Kingdom Football Ministries

These are questions we have received from parents:

Q. When will practices start?

A. Practice officially start Monday, July 19, 2010.

Q. How many times a week will practices be held?

A. Before the first game practices are M-TH, after the first game practices will be 2-3 days (M, T, TH) a week depending on the age group.

Q. How long are practices?

A. Practices are scheduled to begin at 6:00 pm and last until 8:00 pm or so depending on the age group.  Players should begin arriving at 5:45 pm and be picked up by 8:15 pm.

Q. What church is KFM and the Wolfpack program a part of?

A.  KFM is a non-denominational independent Christian sports ministry, we hold to the same statements of faith as Athletes in Action (www.aia.com) and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (www.fca.org)

Q. What are the playing time rules?

A. There are no playing time rules with the Butler County Football League, but the Wolfpack has established the following rules for its coaches: Players qualify for preferred positions based on skill/physical play, attitude, effort and attendance.  Coaches will play players based on a rotation system.  Players will be trained in practice to play on both sides of the ball but may only play on one side during games.

Q. What is the affiliation with AAU (Amateur Athletic Union) and AYF (American Youth Football)?

A. The relationship with AAU started in 2003 when AAU began to expand into the full-contact tackle football arena.  AAU is the major insurance provider for most Kingdom Football programs.  In 2008 the Wolfpack partnered with American Youth Football (AMF) for its football insurance.  A year by year financial evaluation is made to determine which group offers the best insurance package.

Q. Will there be fundraisers?

A. Fundraiser programs are determined and managed by the General and Executive Board members.

Q. Since the league is faith based will prayer be said before each game?

A.  The Head Coach is responsible to have prayer at every game and practice, sometimes prayer gets said at the beginning, middle and/or end of the session.

Q. It says there will be character development sessions at every practice, what will this consist of? Is this consistent throughout all the age groups?

A.  For practices, all teams come together for one teaching time, we use an athletic based pyramid block model (developed by a local Christian coach) with character lessons from books and materials from Athletes in Action, Fellowhsip of Christian Athletes, Our Daily Bread, Sports Spectrum Magazine and Character That Counts http://www.characterthatcounts.org.

Q. Certified and trained coaches, what does the training and certification consist of?

A.  Coaches are certified with the AAU/AMF and the NYSCA, check them out at http://www.nays.com.  Training is also ongoing throughout the season, that is the job of the Head Coach, holding coaches accountable that they are coaching the fundamentals of the sport all season long.

Q. Our children have been involved with Athletes in Action camps, does your program run similar to AIA?

A.  We are partners and staff with AIA.  We share partnering philosophies, but our teaching material content may vary.  We guarantee a program immersed in Bible based principles, which is our core, everything else we teach stems from that foundation, athletically, personally, etc.

Q. Where will the home and away games be played?

A.  Home games are scheduled to take place in Dayton, and away games will be played at the home fields of the Butler County teams.

Q. What equipment/items do parents have to provide?

A.  Parents provide football cleats, a practice jersey, extra mouthpieces, and a physical.
